The month started out with a quick visit from my uncle from New York -- it was great to see him and he loved seeing the boys! We celebrated Scot's birthday with the whole gang this year -- my brother and his wife & twin boys just moved to Colorado Springs and so they joined us for the celebration. A week later, I celebrated Pi Day (3.14) with a special night of eating pie and drinking wine with my girl friends -- it was a blast and I'm so thankful to have an excuse to have a party. We made it down to the springs for a long day trip, enjoyed the sun and a hike, and remembered once again how wonderful it is to live close to family.
For spring break this year we doubled up on school so we can end a week early to go camping, so it wasn't much of a break. BUT...we were able to go to the botanic gardens with friends, watch a tree be cut down in our front yard, witness a new front patio being laid, trim/prune trees in the front, and spend time as a family. Oh, and we went to see a ballet: Peter and the Wolf -- the boys absolutely loved it. It was a wonderful experience.
Overall, we're doing well. We're finally falling into a good routine. I'm striving to simplify life and even though I feel like I've been at it awhile, I feel like I'm finally seeing some results. It's hard work working for rest and the "being still" in life.
Looking forward to Drew's 5th birthday party and Easter, but a lot of planning and prepping has gone on for both these last two weeks.

Birthday bash!
Newly laid patio where an untended flower bed, dead bush, and big tree used to be!
A must.
This year we've started to take the boys individually on "dates" with us. March was Scot's month to take each of the boys out and they got to get up-close-and-personal on a construction site!
They had a blast.
