A long-ago friend from California, Aimee, came up to visit Friday night and Saturday morning and that was quite enjoyable. We had a blast just catching up and had a yummy breakfast Saturday morning. :) The rest of my Saturday was spent hanging out with friends and then hanging out with Scot. I was pooped by the time I got into bed at like 9:30! Scot took all of Sunday off from studying and we had a marvelous day! Church was great (we've been church

picasa! picasa! picasa!!
I have finally bit the bullet, organized all my photos (well, most) and made them 'public' through Picasa! The link to the page is now just part of my blog, but here's the link just for kicks! Scot and I had a wonderful weekend! I had a lot of fun watching my flowers open up, they were SO pretty. I ended up hanging them all upside down from a fishing line 'clothes line' in a corner of the living room. It looks pretty goofy since the fishing line is clear - it's not every day you see a dozen roses hanging upside down midair! But hopefully it'll get the job done. :) I took some pictures of the roses before I hung them, you can check the "photography" album if you want to see. There were a couple I thought turned out really well.

hunting and I think we finally found a place that fits), and we had a great afternoon walk (4 miles!!) and then went out and bought supplies to make our own pizza from scratch! It was so good. I used the 'Quick and easy Pizza Crust' recipe off the Hillbilly Housewife site. It was so easy (Scot even lent a hand) and so good! We did Pineapple and Onion and then ate it while playing Yhatzee! Again, it was an early night for me - I was in bed by 9! But it was such a fun weekend!

progression of the belly...
So a friend of mine just asked if I would post all my pregnancy shots in one spot so people could 'see' the progression. Well, I thought this a marvelous idea except for the actual uploading the pictures part! So...I tagged each of the posts as "Pregnancy Pictures", so if you want to see the progression, all you have to do is go to the bottom of any of the posts with pregnancy pictures in it, and click the link, and you'll get the 4 or 5 posts all right there for your viewing pleasure! :) Thanks for the great idea, Karen!

Easter fun
Growing up, Easter was one of my favorite holidays! I loved the new dress I would always get (the tradition which I wish would continue on into adulthood), I loved the candy and the egg hunt and I loved the dinner with friends! :) For me, it's also the simple most important Christian 'holiday'! With out the glory of the resurrection, where would we be? Christ's birth and death are all amazing, but none of it would matter had He not risen to glory!! This year, minus the dress, Easter held the same excitement. Scot and I scaled WAY back on the candy, though, and we didn't have an egg hunt, but we had a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit instead (with eggs)! It was delightful!! We had Easter dinner over at our surrogate parent's house and ate our fill - and boy was it yummy!!
We also took our 26 week shots! I can't believe I'm already 6 and a half months along! It's crazy! I'm doing and feeling really well, still. Sleeping is becoming more of a challenge. Turning over with an extra 15 lbs stickin' strait out front is kinda tricky! Sometimes I forget it's there (it being the belly, not the baby!) and try to quickly turn over or switch sides in bed and end up waking up because quite frankly, it's not possible to 'quickly' turn over!! Otherwise, everything is great! We have all the major things for when he comes (crib, stroller, car seat, swing, bouncy seat...and a ton of cute little clothes!) and as the time between now and then gets shorter, we get more and more excited! WOOHOO!! It's fun to think of all the new changes that are coming our way. I don't think anyone is fully prepared for the first one, but we're excited about all the funny stories we're sure to have! haha. On a side note, I think little Evan is going to grow up to be a pro soccer player if all the kicking is any indication! Uncle Jared would be happy!

great (and funny) cooking site
So I stumbled upon this cooking site/blog and thought it was SO good that I would share! It's called the Pioneer Woman Cooks and it's fabulous! She gives step by step photos (which are kind of funny) along with step by step directions! The desserts she makes look like they're to die for (and would probably kill you, really, if you ate them all the time) - but it's an entertaining site - check it out! I think I'm going to save the Cinnamon Roll one for around Christmas time and the Apple Dumpling one is really as good (and dangerous) as she says! Some other fun cooking blogs:
Sisters Cafe - this one will lead you to ALL sorts of other yummy cooking sites
Hillbilly Housewife - this one was recommended by a friend for 'cheap' cooking - I've tried out a few recipes and it's actually been good. You just have to ignore the 'bacon fat' suggestions!

kinda funny
So in gym class today (that's what I call it, it's really called Flex Your Body - Total Toning, but it's shorter to say gym class) - anyways - Karen, the wonderful and beautiful instructor that we are so blessed to have, made us do push ups. Now this isn't a big deal you understand, I'm used to doing push ups. I haven't done push ups in about 2 weeks, but I didn't give it any thought. I positioned my hands on the outside of the mat and kept my body strait and dipped down and...my belly touched the floor when I was halfway down!! It did not do that 2 weeks ago! But I was so shocked that I started laughing in the middle of the 'routine' - I mean, how bizarre is it to have your belly touch the ground before any other part of you? I guess I've grown in the last 2 weeks even though I hadn't noticed. Funny how that happens sometimes, huh?

we're back!
The biggest news of the trip, though, is that we found a place to live!! An adorable town home in Denver that is just absolutely perfect for us! The basic info: hardwood floors on the main level, 3 stories (including basement), 3 good sized bedrooms (1 in basement for office/guest room), a great room in the basement, 2.5 baths, a huge covered patio, redone kitchen, good neighborhood, brick, playground just a walk away, secure feel and convenient location!! The Lord answered our prayers in a MAJOR way and we have much to be thankful for! And now, we'll have room for anyone and everyone to visit!! There's a door at the top of the basement stairs (no worries, it's not scary or anything) and so the whole downstairs can become its own little private apartment! :) So I expect lots and lots of visitors, ok?

quick update from CO
Hey all!! Just a real quick update to let you all know that we're having a blast in CO enjoying the mountains and the clean air, the sun and blue sky!! Scot is studying most all day long while I hang out with my mom shopping and doing fun stuff like that! :) It's been a lot of fun so far going to church and different Bible studies and just hanging out with family and being able to be outside in short sleeves! (And today, I was in shorts, too!! Yes - you should be jealous - hee hee) Anyways, that's the update!! I'll write more later. Tomorrow we're off to Denver to look at condos and we have a full week ahead of us! YAY!!! It's going to be hard going back to MO - but I miss my friends! (Hope you all are doing well!)

charlie horse!!
So I experience my first charlie horse this morning at about 4am and man - my calf STILL hurts! All I did - I think - was stretch and flex my leg/foot and then there it was! It hurt so much I actually woke Scot up b/c I had NO IDEA what was going on. It felt like there were knives in the back of my knee/calf. No kidding. And no fun. But a friend just told me that it was a charlie horse, which is good, b/c I just thought it was some weird spasm. Who would have thought! I looked on line for some solutions, but it seems like I'm doing everything I can. I eat a banana every morning, I drink lots of water, walk, take my pre-natals and have my 3-a-day dairy! What do you all suggest? Any tricks any of you learned? Or is it just something I get to live with for the next 4 months? Any suggestions would be great!!
Also - in other baby news - we're doing great. Evan is kicking a lot recently and it's been a lot of fun to watch my shirt! haha. Scot's gotten to see the 'dancing belly' as well, now. We're also counting down the days til we leave for CO - 2 more full days left and then we hit the road! WOOHOO!!! (Can you tell I'm excited?) Otherwise, we're good here!

RED ultrasound pictures
So I was told my some friends that the ultrasound pictures were blurry and hard to tell what they were even with my silly descriptions! haha. So I've gone and 're-done' the pictures so it would be really easy to see what exactly we're looking at. And believe me, I don't blame any of you who couldn't tell, even looking at the real pictures it's hard (especially the face one). But here they are!
